Showers, showers and more showers!!

Dear Baby Girl Hannah.

What a wonderful shower you had on Saturday.  So many people came to show their love for your Momma and you!  You got so many beautiful things. Beautiful clothes and blankets and books and lamps, things for your crib....so much love for you!!

Grandma Tammy was here!!  Grandpa Syd and Daddy helped with moving furniture so all the ladies could sit in a circle.  They put up the decorations hanging from the ceiling and then they left for their own fun time.

We had pink and white balloons and pretty baby things hanging from the ceiling.  We served brownies with ice cream on top!  Yum, yum!  We put some carmel and chocolate on top of the ice cream and everyone loved it!  We had red punch and a dessert cheese ball that Grandma Tammy had the recipe for.  It had chocolate chips in it.  It was all pretty yummy!

Your day was very special.  Grandma's favorite time was when your Auntie Lynn had the women make a necklace for you and one for your Momma.  Each woman or girl put a bead on a thread and told your Momma what they were praying for her and for you or what they hoped for you in your life.  So many wonderful prayers and blessings went up for you and your Momma that day.

Grandma's prayer for you was that you would grow to know the depth of God's love for you, the depth of your parent's love for you and the depth of my love for you.  I do pray that for you, little one.  That you would truly know in your heart just how loved you are by the Creator of the Universe!  I prayed for your Momma that she would always remember who she is.  "A precious, loved child of God".  You see Momma's can get pretty busy taking care of everyone else and helping others that they forget that they are important too.  So that is your job little one, to always help your Momma remember how special she is.  :)  And I know that she will help you remember how special you are!

Grandma Tammy had some pretty fun games that we got to play at your shower.  We played a clothes pin game.  Everyone got a clothes pin.  We couldn't cross our legs or say the word "baby".  If we did someone could take our clothes pin.  The one with the most clothes pins won the prize.  Great Grandma Christensen made the prizes.  Kitchen towels and beautiful Christmas coasters.  She crocheted them herself!  Great Grandma crocheted you a blanket and so did Auntie Laura!  Auntie Kari gave you a "Old MacDonald" book that is a puppet book.  I think you could get her to read it to you!

Grandma Tammy was so happy to be here for your shower.  She got to meet so many of your Momma's friends and family from Minnesota.  It is very hard for Grandma Tammy to be so far away.  She will need extra love from you to help her not feel so lonesome for you and your Momma.

Now your Momma and Daddy can start painting your room and decorating it.  Your room will have Winnie the Pooh characters.  Grandma loves Winnie the Pooh!  When your Daddy has finished painting Gramdma and Aunt Laura and Auntie Kari will come over and help with the decorating.  It is so nice of your Momma to let us help!!

I love you, little one.  Rest well and grow strong for Grandma!

Love,

Grandma
