Sydney Ruth! You are finally here and Grandma finally gets to write your name here for the first time.
You arrived on Sunday, February 11 at 12:28 a.m. that means you were almost born on February 10, but you held out for the 11th.
Grandma is so glad you waited until I was done taking care of your cousin Raiya. You are a very thoughtful baby already!!
It was quite an adventure the day you were born. Your Momma and Daddy didn't think you were coming that day, but your Grandma Tammy and Grandma Deb, we knew that you were going to be born. Your Grandma Tammy was so sure of it that her and Grandpa Syd packed their bags and got in the car and started driving all the way from Texarkana so they could be here when you were born. They didn't quite make it though. You were born at 12:28 and they came just before 2:00 a.m. But they got to be part of the little celebration of your arrival. Auntie Laura, Uncle Aaron and Auntie Maggie were there too. It was such a wonderful time welcoming you into our families.
Grandma and Grandpa Doug were trying to get the grocery shopping done before you were ready to come, but your Daddy called me on my phone and said that your Momma was having signs that you might be ready to come. Grandpa Doug and Grandma rushed like crazy to get the groceries home so Grandma and Auntie Laura could head over to your Momma and Daddy's to help them.
We weren't at your house very long before your Momma decided we better go to the hospital. So off we went with Auntie Laura in the back seat of your Daddy's car timing your Momma's contractions for her. Auntie Laura and your Daddy had quite a system going on timing the contractions!
Your Momma was full of courage and love the night/morning you were born. She wanted to do everything just right to give you the best start in you little life. She did it too. Your Daddy helped her with all his love and support. What a team they were!
I will never forget the look on your Momma and Daddy's face when you finally were born. They both had tears of joy and praise's to God on their lips for the wonderful miracle of you.
Grandma got to be there for every bit of it. My heart is overwhelmed with the awesome privelege of being with your Momma and Daddy during their labor of love for you.
You were so beautiful. Every inch of you!
Grandma and Grandpa Doug came up to see you on Sunday afternoon. You had already changed so fast! And Grandma didn't get to see you again until Friday afternoon. But I got to stay overnight with you, your Daddy, your Mommy and Grandma Tammy. It was just the best being there with you and everyone. You have the sweetest expressions. We just can't quit looking at you.
I brought Great Grandma Christensen over to see you on Sunday. Your one week old birthday! Uncle Steven and Auntie Kari were sick when you were born so they finally got to see you on Sunday. Great Grandma wanted to kiss your head and Auntie Kari wanted to hold you and hold you.
Now I have to wait until Saturday to see you again. I get so lonely for you and for your cousin Raiya. What is a Grandma to do?!
Welcome, my little Sydney Ruth. Grandma is so blessed to be a part of your life. I am praying for you!
